Lodging: Jess and Miles's new floor
Attractions: driving by Salton Sea, walking to Ocean Beach (10 blocks from and within sight of Miles and Jess's new place), seeing the new apartment, going out for a delightful dinner with a random collection of friends, and knowing we didn't have to get up the next morning and drive!
Unattractions: a whole lot of desert, the disappointment that was Desert Center, and taking two-lane mountain "highways" to avoid potential traffic around L.A.
